Press Release

updated: Apr 9, 2021

Recent release “What Made Gracie Smile” from Newman Springs Publishing author Shirley Tolson is about Gracie, a little girl of only 10 who meets two of her best friends in life, and she struggles to keep them.

Shirley Tolson, a daughter in a very large family with a love and need to write, has completed her new book “What Made Gracie Smile”: an engaging story about Gracie, a 10-year-old girl, as she meets Lisa and Matthew, two children she meets in Washington D.C. that are about to change her life forever.

Shirley writes, “A word from the writer I wrote this short children’s story because I went through a similar event in my childhood at age eleven, although Gracie had many differences compared to myself, we also have several similarities.”

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Shirley Tolson’s endearing tale is meant to help children in similar situations, to let them know that not only are they not alone but the friends they make as young adolescents aren’t gone forever just because they move away.

Readers who wish to experience this inspiring work can purchase “What Made Gracie Smile” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble.
