“A Florida State University study concluded that the Church of Scientology and parishioners add some $917 million to the Clearwater economy annually,” stated Amber Skjelset, Scientology Information Center Manager. “With that kind of impact, people are very curious about Scientology, so we hold open house events every Blast Friday and invite those attending to step inside and learn about the Church and Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard.”
The Center, housed in the elegant Bank of Clearwater lobby, holds four interactive audio-visual displays containing over 300 video presentations. These cover basic Scientology beliefs and practices, Church expansion and the life and legacy of Mr. Hubbard.
The Scientology religion was founded by humanitarian and philosopher L. Ron Hubbard. The first Church of Scientology was formed in the United States in 1954 and the religion has expanded to more than 11,000 Churches, Missions and affiliated groups, with millions of members in 167 nations.
