Recent release “What God Thinks When a Child Dies” from Covenant Books author Patty Whitacre is a compilation of scripture-based stories from those who have loved and lost, but found the Holy Trinity in their lives. Everyone grieves differently and every loss is different, but for those who are grieving, there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

Patty Whitacre, an adoring mother and grandmother from South Carolina, has completed her new book, “What God Thinks When a Child Dies”: a faith-based collection of stories that show how God can be seen while grieving.

Whitacre shares, “When someone loses someone they love, there is a period of grieving. If the death resulted in the loss of a close or significant relationship, the grieving can be really intense and cause us to blame ourselves or others and even God for the untimely death of our loved one. If that someone was your own child, the questions and what-ifs can be excruciating. If suicide was involved, the questions seem to never end, and guilt and shame can be debilitating. In our grief, we can lose sight of who God is. Based on Scripture, this book is an attempt to help those grieving see God and His character. The Trinity has different roles and characteristics they embody. Interweaved in each section are personal stories of loss and how the Trinity showed up during a time of the unimaginable loss of a child.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Patty Whitacre’s new book was derived from her own experience in losing her son. She, herself, struggled with praying, reading scripture, and focusing in the wake of her loss and hopes that her shared journey will resonate with readers and guide them through their grief.

Readers can purchase “What God Thinks When a Child Dies” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
