Recent release “These Aren’t Oranges!” from Covenant Books author Susan Serena Marie is a faith-based children’s tale that displays how life’s unexpected turns can be incredible gifts with the right mindset and outlook.

Susan Serena Marie, a God-fearing family matriarch and California native, has completed her new book, “These Aren’t Oranges!”: a delightful children’s book with a valuable lesson.

Marie shares, “These Aren’t Oranges! is a story of disappointment about unexpected changes. When life throws us a curve ball, we can become angry or pout, we can focus our attention on our disappointment, or we can sit back and praise God for blessing us! When we remember to be grateful, our eyes soon change their focus and begin to see a whole world of gifts before us.

The main characters in the story are Jacob and his single widowed father. Jacob is a preschool-aged little boy whose favorite thing to do is spend time with his father and eat delicious foods. Together they learn to embrace God’s wonderful goodness, even when a beloved orange tree suddenly and unexpectedly produces a crop of apples.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Susan Serena Marie’s new book offers a new perspective for children, through a spiritual tale and vibrant images, so that when life’s curveballs come at them, they will approach the situation with a grateful heart.

Readers can purchase “These Aren’t Oranges!” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
