Recent release “Soraya” from Covenant Books author Taraneh Saba is a captivating tale of a young girl who grew up while her mother was incarcerated and was taken in by a devious human trafficker. Despite her horrific journey, Soraya survived and stood up against this terrible criminal.

Taraneh Saba, a successful prosecutor, has completed her new book, “Soraya”: a gripping tale with a peek into the criminal justice system and life after freedom.

Saba shares, “Soraya was a 13-year-old runaway from her foster home when she met KC, a human trafficker who took her under his wings and pretended to love her, only to force her into prostitution. Soraya endured much abuse in the hands of her clients and KC, who would severely beat her every time she tried to leave that life. After five years of torturous life, when Soraya turned 18, she finally left KC. That is when he tracked her down and shot her five times in the chest at close range. Soraya, however, survived and testified at KC’s trial. The book also describes Soraya’s life after the trial and her tenuous relationship with her mother, who had been in prison while Soraya was growing up.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Taraneh Saba’s new book, inspired by her own career in the justice system, shows the resiliency and horror that victims of human trafficking face after freedom.

Readers can purchase “Soraya” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
